STEER INC. COW/CALF PROGRAM

The cow/calf program is the heart beat of the STEER program as currently around 84 percent of all the ranchers that are involved in the STEER ministry have cow/calf projects. Also the amount of investments that STEER Inc. has in the cow/calf program is around $1.5 million. So why not get involved today? If you have questions or would like to make contact with us about your possible involvement in this exciting missions funding organization please contact us today at 701-258-4911 or e-mail us at ministry@steerinc.com

The ranchers responsibility to the program is his labor, feed, and care.  There is no risk as all investments are covered by our insurance and depreciation fund.  This includes vet fees, death loss, and depreciation losses on the investment.

When it comes time to market your project, sell the livestock in the name of STEER, Inc.  If you are selling some of your own livestock at the same time, you can simply take the overall average and have the marketing agent make the check payable to STEER, Inc. for the portion which is designated to missions.  By not involving your personal account you will not have to declare as income or pay Social Security Tax on the STEER Project.

When the calf is sold, 85% of the gain goes to the mission as designated by the farmer. The remaining portion is used for replacement costs, death and depreciation losses and administration. When a cow is sold, the original investment (donor UNIT) is always retained to be reinvested in another project.

If the purchase cost of a cow or other long term investment is higher than $800, the difference will be deducted from the gross gain over a two-year period.

When it comes to purchasing a cow for your involvement in Steer we would gladly purchase a bred cow or heifer from your herd or from your neighbor's herd. If you are now interested in knowing more about this unique stewardship program or perhaps you would like an agreement of stewardship form from us in order to get the process of your involvement started please call us today at 701-258-4911 or e-mail us at ministry@steerinc.com

Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you!
