FURTHER DETAILS
How Does STEER,
Inc. Generate Funds for Missionary Support?
We have a
MULTIPLIED GIVING stewardship program that involves
three groups of people.
-
The
DONOR provides investment capital by giving STEER a
$700 UNIT. This UNIT becomes a part of our
MULTIPLIED GIVING fund and is used to invest in
livestock and crop production. MULTIPLIED GIVING
means that when the entire product is sold, the
initial investment is deducted from the sale and
later re-invested in other livestock and crop
projects, always leaving the original UNIT intact.
-
The
FARMER receives cash from this MULTIPLIED GIVING
fund. He uses the cash to purchase livestock or
cover the cost of crop production. The amount of
the investment from the MULTIPLIED GIVING fund is
covered by our insurance and depreciation fund.
-
The
MISSION SOCIETY or MISSIONARY receives 80% - 83% of the
gain from the FARMER'S project. The remaining
percentage covers the cost of insurance and
depreciation as well as administrative expenses
incurred by STEER, Inc. in managing this stewardship
program.
How Long Before
There is a Gain on the Investment?
This
depends on the farmer/rancher and the type of project
he has. For example, if the project is:
Your
mission will receive a check from STEER Inc. for any
gains designated for your support within 45 days the
sale is received in the STEER office.
Can I Count On
the Farmer/Rancher's Continued Support?
Farmers
and ranchers involved in yearly projects for your
support should be treated like one of your regular
monthly supporters. They become an important part of
your support team. They will continue to support you
as you keep them informed of your ministry. STEER,
Inc. will invest funds for your support at the
farmer's request.
Do I Need to
Find Donors?
Each
member society has a certain number of UNITS on
account, and new UNITS are added periodically as
people feel burdened to contribute to your society in
this way. However, we are not asking you to find
donors before you can participate. We have a limited
number of donors who have designated their UNITS to
where the need is greatest, and we rotate these UNITS
among our member societies.
