Evangelical mission organizations that are international in scope; para-church or denominational
U.S.-based mission endeavors to certain ethnic groups
Other U.S. ministries, if ministries are involved in foreign mission work

What Agencies Are Not Eligible?

U.S. projects or ministries involving:

Churches

Christian schools

Camps

Radio

Literature

Youth

Rehabilitation

Membership Requirements

Have a proper board or council exercising organizational control

Be a financially responsible U.S.-based nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization

Have reputation for integrity and stability

Have general approval from other evangelical missions and organizations such as the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) or the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE)

Be generally recognized as an international mission organization

Have five farmers ready to become involved (Farmer agreement forms must be completed and returned to the STEER office.)

Membership Commitments

Designate a special representative from your organization to be responsible for directing your involvement with STEER, Inc.

Provide STEER, Inc. with a financial report every three years prepared by an independent certified public accountant. (An audit is required if the income is over $3 million. A review is required for income between $2-3 million. A compilation is required if income is under $2 million.)

Attend our Fall Missions Conference at least once every three years.

Pay an annual membership fee by January 1 each year. This is figured at 10% of amount you received from STEER the prior fiscal year. The fee will not be less than $100 or exceed $500.

Complete an application renewal for continued membership every three years.

To Apply

To become a member, the head of your organization must send a letter to STEER, Inc., Box 1236, Bismarck, ND, 58502, requesting a membership application. A non-refundable $50 application fee is required when applying. After completing the application, our General Board of Directors meets quarterly to determine membership. Upon approval, we will notify your mission agency and you will receive a bill for your first year’s membership fee.


Your mission will receive a check from STEER Inc. for any gains designated for your support within 45 days the sale is received in the STEER office
Good news! You don’t have to find Donors to provide the investment money for projects before you begin to partner with us.
We have a number of people who have designated their UNITs to go where the need is greatest. We rotate these funds among our partner agencies.
